Misha Vallejo Prut, Secret Sarayaku
Laib Global was created for the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart in the context of the exhibition “Wolfgang Laib. The Beginning of Something Else“ (17.06.-05.11.2023).The project highlights the three international artists AKI INOMATA, Maximilian Prüfer and Misha Vallejo Prut, whose works are created in close exchange with nature - and in this sense are related to those of Wolfgang Laib.
The term “soil“ refers to the uppermost layer of the earth's surface, which enables mankind to grow food. At the same time, it can be read symbolically as the breeding ground on which our culture, our thinking and our actions thrive. Thus, in art and literature, "soil" is considered a carrier of meaning for social and individual stories. In this context, the opening animation SOIL at the beginning of the videos stands not only for the ecological but also for the cultural level of meaning of the term and unites the three artistic positions in their central statements.
