AVA is an animated short film that critically examines the commodification of artificially generated women and the structural inequalities embedded in their design. Set against the backdrop of “love in the age of ChatGPT,” the film explores how AI partners are often constructed to embody unrealistic ideals of femininity: flawless, endlessly available, and perfectly tailored to individual desires.

Maximilian Prüfer creates his delicate works in collaboration with various living creatures: snails, ants, flies, or moths leave their marks on paper, reminiscent of brushstrokes. For his documentary, A Gift from Him, Prüfer travels to China to gain insight into the practice of hand-pollination, a method many farmers resort to due to the severe decline in insect populations.
